CHRIS' STORY

After multiple short-lived successes from various fad diets and attempts of quick fixes, I’ve always found that nothing lasted and my weight/fat percentage has yoyoed. This is mainly due to these not being sustainable long term solutions. I was, however, still apprehensive about engaging a personal trainer rather clinging on to these short-term wins, no matter how unsuccessful these were in the end.

Fortunately, I plucked up the courage to contact The Health Unit and I received an instant response from Dan. I work in sales and to say I am a difficult client to sell to would be an understatement. PAUL'S STORY

I've been working with Dan from The Health Unit for a little over a month, and wow—what a transformation already! As a barber and father of four, I had fallen into some terrible habits: eating on-the-go, finishing my kids' leftovers, and generally making poor food choices. Exercise was something I convinced myself I didn't have time or energy for.

JEAN'S STORY

Let me be clear, at my age (70) I don't want to be hench, built, nor am I interested in posing in the gym in Lycra. There have been a lot of articles recently about the benefits of weight training for seniors, so I tentatively approached The Health Unit and booked up for a one-to-one session with Dan.

He put me at ease straightaway understanding my hopes and aims and reassured me that I did indeed have a place in the gym, Lycra or no. That was six months ago and with Dan's support, guidance and weekly sessions, I have grown in confidence and can see real benefits in body, health and mind.

I'm so proud and pleased to report that I can now do a proper press up. Thank you Dan!

JAMES' STORY

Have been working with Dan for several months and I have noted a huge improvement in my strength and stamina as a result of the sessions he has devised.

At 72 years old, I had lost a lot of strength and at the start I struggled to do 5 or 6 press-ups. Now I can do 20, as well as many other exercises using some heavy weights. I am also now doing sets of strict pull-ups, something I haven’t done since my 30s!

I train 3 times a week and the progress I have made and the constant support and reassurance provided by Dan at The Health Unit means this is now a permanent part of my weekly routine.
